Hi everybody, I've been lurking around here for a while reading and learning the fine art from the board. I've been making my own beer for several months now making various recipes, trying different yeasts and techniques in an effort to improve my beer.

I currently have a can of Brewmart Pilsner Czeck extract 1.8 K, 3lbs of Muntons Light Malt powder, and a package of Wyyeast Cceck Pils.

I visited a local homebrew shop yesterday and bought a bunch of stuff with no plan. I also picked up Hallertau Hopps and Perle Hopps, the actual hops not pellets or plugs, never used anything but pellets before. I also have several different types of pellet hops left over in the fridge from some previous recipes.

My question is, what would you recommend to make a good pilsner out of these ingredients? I'm still a newb brewer.

Well, to make a true Pils, you need to be able to lager (ferment cold, with a lager yeast, at around 50°). Otherwise, it's not truly a pils.

They do make pilsner-malt extracts, you'll probably have to buy them online. Can't speak to those specific products mentioned.

The other thing that is classic to a pilsner is Saaz hops. Hallertau's a good choice for most German beers, but Saaz is the key, especially for late flavor and aroma additions, on a classic Pils.
