Hello,

I will be doing an AG summer type lager. I am looking for something with SRM around 3.5 and a ABV of about 5.5...and IBU around 25. I got the grains picked out and was looking for advice for hops. I have used Saaz for pils, tett and haller for lagers...(and cascades for ales). After that, I do not know much about hop varieties first hand.

I want to stick to one type of hop to improve my ability to taste/recognize different hop varieties.

Can anyone provide info about perle as a sole hop (with batch IBU around 25)?

Cheers.

I don't know about lower IBU ales, but you can a nice IPA with Perle. I suspect it would do well in a summer beer.

I make my steam beer with all Perle. 2 ounces total:
1 at 60
1/2 at 15
1/2 at 5

Malt to your desired level

Saflager S-23 at 70 degrees
