I have a used Penrose kettle for sale. Its been modified (by the guys at brewhemoth) to include a 1" half coupler for a heating element so it can be used as an E-Kettle. It also has a small hole punched out for a temp probe. Its in great shape and will include a stainless steel ball valve and a stainless steel pick up tube. If you are interested I can sell it with a heating element installed and ready to go for an additional $25
Only $175!

Just to add further support. I know the guys who make and sell these kettles. They spare no expense to quality. This is a great product and will make a fellow home brewer very happy.

Enjoy.

Cheers,

+1 My Penrose Kettle was my first piece of "big boy" brewing equipment. I love it!!!

Here are some pics. The heating element is a 5500W/240V Camco and would come with it installed as shown in the pics, only without the cord. You would need to just wire up your own cord to the box. Very easy to do.
The picture of the inside of the kettle won't load for some reason, I'm working on it, but here are the other pics.

How large is the kettle? Also approximately how long does it take the heating element to bring the kettle to a boil? Thanks

The kettle is over 15.5 gallons. Check out brewhemoth.com for exact dimensions. I would say it takes approximately 15-20 mins to bring 8 gallons of wort up to boil from 160 degrees or so. It may be faster than that but I've never timed it. It works very well and you can acheive a very vigorous boil. I usually have to turn down my PID to 55% when I do boils.
