i have a question about the pancho cooler, so i'll resurrect this thread...
i got one at HombewCon this past summer, but only had an opportunity to try it for the first time this past weekend. the beer that came out of the keg foamed like hell. it was a low-carbed stout, but in the cup it came out 10% liquid and 90% foam. after a few minutes it settle down... but was annoying to deal with. has anyone else experienced this?
i suspect the reason why is the short line between the coupler and the tap. it's 2 or 3 feet long. i'm going to replace it with a more traditional ~8 feet and hope that avoids the problem.
otherwise i am happy with the cooler. it kept the keg cold for hours, tap worked as expected, feels solid, etc. as soon as i get the foaming under control, this product will get 5 stars from me.
i accidentally hit the drainage spout at the bottom of the cooler and broke the button mechanism. user error. it looks like a standard water cooler spout so i'm hoping i can get a replacement from Igloo, Coleman, etc. EDIT: pancho sells replacement spigots from his website
I use the full length of liquid tubing in the cooler and this makes it easy to pour beers without foam. If you scroll down in my thread you can see the tubing inside the cooler with the keg. It's been used at two weddings and a few parties so far, and no foaming. So increase the liquid line to about 10 feet and you should be fine. Hope this helps....
I have one of these also.I think the beer line is too short and maybe too large diameter.Used it the first time this past week kept cold very well.My only problem is the lid is damn near impossible for me to screw on!
