Very interesting blind taste test results with some of their comments in order of tasting:
Wyeast 2565 Kolsch - 2nd place taste, 1st in hop profile flavor, can taste the hop flavors, tasty, very good, some bready aroma, so nicely hopped, very crisp.
Wyeast 1028 London Ale – not as hoppy as the Kolsch, grapy, more fruity maybe from phenols, less carbonated, more mouth feel, not as dry as expected. FG 1.015.
WL011 European Ale – soft creamy mouth feel, full body, can taste the hops, clean tasting, kinda malty, tasty easy drinking.
WL001 Californian Ale - More harsh bitterness that mellows, not much carbonation, not a showcase for the hops, good mouthfeel, slightly fruity, not as fruity as London Ale, still a good beer. Malty, very sweet FG 1.015.
Wyeast 1007 German Ale – tasty beer, familiar, fairly fruity maybe from the hops, nice.
WL550 Belgian @40 minute mark - 1st place taste, spicy, wheaty, as if more ingredients were added, distinctly Belgian-like and different from the others, had the most added flavors, so complex.

sounds interesting, i was going to do something similar will have to give a listen, i'm not a fan of my pale ale's being "distinctly belgian like" so i'm interested in what the Kolsch comes out like

What was the goal of the experiment? Certainly not to see which yeast made the best pale ale....maybe the one he liked the most.

It was to find the yeast that imparted the most hop flavor. It was not 001 but the kölsch that came out on top. It was interesting.

The goal was to just see what different yeasts would do with the same wort. A listener sent in the beer and the BBR staff tasted them and tried to figure out ( guess ) which beer was brewed with which yeast.

OK, that makes some sense, then...
