Going to brew this next it will be my 7th brew. Trying to find the balance between sweet/malt/roast but can always use more hops this is only my 3rd all grain brew and im not good at balancing my malts yet so I would like some advice. It will be my second time using my homemade cooler mashtun.

My recipe can be found here http://hopville.com/recipe/709603/american-ipa-recipes/packman-black-ipa

90minutes in 150* mash tun
10lb. American pale ale 2 row
2lb. Vienna
1lb. Victory
4oz. Breiss Caramel 120

Cold steep overnight add during last 5 minutes of boil
8oz. Black patent
4oz. Chocolate malt

60 minute boil
1oz. Cascade
1oz. Columbus
.5oz. Magnum

30 minute boil
.5oz. Magnum

10 minute boil
1oz. Ahtanum

5 minute boil
8oz. Pine needle tips (not sure what kind I collected but they taste good)
1oz. Cascade
1 tsp irish moss
1 tsp wyeast yeast nutrient
dark grains that were cold steeped

pitch pacman yeast starter
Primary 3 weeks
Dry hop with 2oz. cascade 7 days after 2 weeks in primary
Secondary 1 week with 1oz. oak chips
Bottle/age for a week and then drink

Does all of this sound right for a black ipa?
32 srm
7.7% alcohol

It looks pretty solid to me, the only thing i would worry about are the "pine needle tips" If they are not spruce tips, i would not use them. "Pine" can end up making your beer taste like road tar when boiled.

What about some rosemary instead?
