Hey all,

I am planning on brewing a Pecan Porter and the recipe calls for New Zealand Pacific Gem hops and New Zealand Hallertaur Hops and I having a blasted time finding them. Any substitution suggestions? Here is a link to the recipe:

7 bridges has them. Its a good choice i liked both of those, although i used Gem in a wheat beer which i didnt think fit.It definatly is unique but im thinking a medium light citrusy hop as a sub. Maybe an herbally citrus hop. I wouldnt sub if you can.Im finding with recipes subbing is a whole new beer which sometimes doesnt work out as intendid.I would recommend getting those,i dont think shipping would be too much for a few oz but you may as well get more if your going to pay a few bucks more for shipping.I really like their sazz and belgian cascades and summit hops, they also have hallertau middelfru which are hard to find. I like their belgian new zealand and german hops.

It is just the 60 minute addition and in very low quantity. Just substitute something with a similar alpha acid % that isn't too funky. Magnum would be a good substitute as it is quite clean for bittering.
