Ordered kit for batch 2. Midwest coffee porter

Does anyone have any recommended mods to the midwest coffee porter kit? Seems a few people mentioned adding 1/2 lb bakers chocolate at the beginning of the boil on the midwest review page. Looking to see if the experts here know of some simple changes easy enough for a beginner.

I'd just say adding or changing stuff isn't as important as your techniques. Making a yeast starter gives huge improvements and is really very easy to do. Also cold brewing coffee or investigating other methods to make the coffee less bitter.
