Whoa whoa WHOA!!!!

You mean senate committees in Oregon actually have hearings on alcohol related bills? What a revolutionary idea... signed resident of Mississippi :( ;(

I'm actually listening to the stream right now... riveting! I just wanted to hear what legislators sound like whom don't espouse the 'wat rong wit de beer we got, it drank perdy gud don't it' mentality. The ways & means committee chair here in MS let the bills die in committee without giving them a hearing because,"I don't want to put my members in a tough situation during an election year". Yep alcohol is such a divisive evil element that our legislators can't be bothered to deal with 'hard' matters if it were to effect their re-electability. Thanks for letting me vent...

Schlante,
Phillip

Out of committee without anybody objecting. The audio should be archived if you want to listen. It's worth the 40 mins.

Full OR Senate must vote. Then it likely goes to committee in the House, then a full House vote, then the Governor signs. See below, same rules apply to Oregon legislature.

No updates. The legislative website does not have anything related to the comittee hearing either:

1-10(S) Introduction and first reading. Referred to President's desk.

1-18 Referred to Business, Transportation and Economic Development.

2-10 Work Session held.

Update - The brewer's association is calling for constituents to contact their local House and Senate members urging them to pass this bill:

At this time, we ask that you contact both the Senator and Representative for your district and urge them to vote in favor of SB 444. Contacting your legislators is quick and easy (if you call, you will most likely speak with one of their staff members), and each contact from a constituent has an impact.

SB444 passed the OR Senate unanimously today with no debate! On to the House!

Denny, I was reading the voting for this bill at http://gov.oregonlive.com/bill/2011/SB444/# and saw where "Prozanski declared potential conflict of interest".

I am not very good at political stuff so does mean a potential problem for the bill? Or do you know?

If not, I am getting ready for the years comps! woo hoo:rockin:

Thanks

Kevin

The statement that "Prozanski declared potential conflict of interest" is a little troubling to me, but it seems the exemption has been declared unanimously passed.

WOOT!

Nope, no problems. He's a homebrewer and was just being upfront about it.

SB 444 passed the OR House today. All that's left is for the governor to sign it and OR will have the best homebrew law in the US!

Awesome! That's how we role around here.

Already told Kitz I would bring him a beer as soon as he signs the thing.
