What the **** is wrong with people?

cloned & stolen credit cards ftw

I've heard that if you don't do friends or family then you will get a tax form from paypal summarizing your sales and you have to put it on your taxes. But if you get it friends or family then you don't.
That's actually worse to me since these idiots should be paying taxes! It's income! Illegal income, but still income.

Can I claim a deduction for my mileage / time standing in line to reduce the income to zero?
I'd assume not given it's not a business and is private income but who knows. Again, it's illegal income anyway so I don't even know how you'd explain it on your taxes in the first place.

The government doesn't care what you put as your revenue as long as you list it. You can claim to be a drug dealer and deduct the cost of your drugs and put all of that on your tax return with no repercussions. The government literally just wants its money.

hmm, that's interesting. If you didn't have a job and reported earning $200,000, would you get audited and arrested afterwards?

As long as you can actually show you made that much, you may get audited but they can't arrest you. Now, the local authorities may start paying closer attention to you.

Gentlemen please, As the resident TB tax accountant, I am available for consultation. They should also be paying "use tax" on the sale of the products, but lets be real no one admits to and actually pays "use tax".
Aren't we talking about illegal sale of alcohol? Something tells me know one is reporting this stuff guyz.

you probably don't have a pot to piss in anyways you're buying alcohol thru a paypal transaction... Would they cover it anyways?

I wonder how the person obtained the tap handle. I am pretty sure in PA the wholesalers own most of the tap handles at the bars as they are the ones who provide the unique tap handles for various beers. That being said the person who posted the tap handle may actually be selling stolen goods. I am not versed in the laws of every state but even at the bargain price of $12,000 I would avoid this like the plague.
As someone on the distribution side tap handles are a touchy subject. To refer to the above as stolen goods is not something that would stick in a court of law unless a bill of sale was provided by NEBCO or Wholesaler to where ever it was obtained. Tap handles are typically co-op'd 50/50 between breweries and wholesalers (this is for craft brewers mostly I'm referring to.) so yes they are property of either the brewery and distributor. But as most of us in the industry know as soon as you take that tap handle out into the trade and provide it to a customer most of them feel that it's there's and is a cost of doing business. There is no bill of sale on handles to customers here in NY. We talk about it all the time that due to costs who's going to be the first wholesaler to start actually charging customers for handles but it will never happen. They don't understand that even a co-op'd handle can cost each side 20 to 30 dollars per handle hence why the touchy subject. The 12k guy in the MBC thread is still an idiot and I have to believe it's a troll post.

My personal favorite was when our government offered the good ol' marijuana stamp tax trick.

I guess it would actually impact your basis. I just found this on Google so if this actually impacts you consult a tax advisor.

Funny. So the tax they technically are supposed to pay is the (cost of Sale - cost of purchase) * .28 if beer is a collectible.

This was brought up earlier in this thread right about here, though I'm happily not a tax accountant so.....I would look here at the IRS to view the IRC and any related guidance if anyone is really selling enough to be worried about it and wants to self-investigate. You could try talking to an active practicing CPA, but they could end up just telling you to **** off and get TurboTax.

Man, our company seriously does. One of our purchasing/procurement guys keeps a spreadsheet of related purchases and gives it to us. It's ******* ridiculous....

That is false. I claim the standard use tax option from PA because I buy stuff online and have never gone back to look at my purchases.

If the sale of collectible wines is acceptable I would expect we will get to the same point with beer in the near future.

Sorry, I addmitadely didn't read most of the pages in the thread.

I used to work at a CPA firm thought not in the tax departmrbt. I will ask some of my former coworkers for their thoughts.

The IRS doesn't care about what you sell, as long as you're paying taxes on the profits. I guess there's a small chance they would report you to another agency, but I speculate the probability is small.

The how is easy. Search on the term DBA. That's how most small Etsy or similar businesses file. The IRS makes it easy to claim profit and pay taxes.
