I’m thinking I need to build a tower cooler for my kegerator. First two pours are always warm.

I don’t, however, love the idea of the fan running 24/7. I figure it’s wasted energy.... and wear and tear on the fan.

Do any of you know of any outlet adapters that cycle power on and off for a set amount of time? Or even better: are there any outlets that will sense the power draw from my fridge and turn a second outlet on to power the cooler?

I’ve googled, but can’t seem to come up anything with the search terms I’m using!

A tower cooler doesn't cost hardly anything to run. In the scheme of home brewing it's less than noise, cost-wise.
I use a 40mm ball bearing fan that burns 1 watt of juice and run it 24/7 to keep my t-tower box chill.

((8760Hrs * 1W)/1000WH) * $0.13/KWH = $1.13 per year. Hardly penurious...

Cheers!

It's just a generic 12vdc 40mm ball bearing fan. The small plastic case was obtained locally for a couple of bucks, the black plastic transition piece is a 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" vacuum cleaner attachment I found at Lowes or Home Depot, and the clear tubing is 1" id/1-1/4" od vinyl...

Cheers!
