I want to make my first oktoberfest soon so its ready for the fall. I was wondering if anybody has noticed any difference in bottling vs kegging an oktoberfest? I have an extra keg and plenty of bottles sitting around so either one is an option for me. Any opinions?

I think cold vs warm is a bigger question (if you don't mind a keg being occupied for 7 months) I would keg and bottle from there, but a true Marzen is stored cool until september.

I recently made one of those counter pressure bottler things (it's on here somewhere... party tap, piece of rigid tube, drilled #2 stopper etc) that lets me bottle (well) out of the corny keg.

That's completely awesome because then you get bottles with no sediment... you can give beer to your friends without all the hand waving about not drinking from the bottle etc.

So I'd do both :)

I brew my Octoberfest/Marzen every march/april and keg. I hide the keg in the basement 'man fridge' and forget about it til fall. If you want to bottle, you can do it from the keg. Of course, this only works if your willing to lock up a keg for 6 months or so.
