OG reading help

I hit 1.060 how bad is that for the OG. Original called for 1.065

Sounds like you got 92.3% of the expected OG. Better than some worse than others. All in all I'd agree with Hammy, you're making beer. Brew on.

If you are brewing with extract, that difference is in the measurement of the water added or incomplete mixing of top-off water with concentrated wort. The extract has a specified amount of sugars so with the correct amount of water the OG is always correct.
