Off color

I brewed my first partial mash and finally got to crack one open. Tasted pretty good but the color seems to be off for a white IPA. Followed the directions to a t. It was a brewers best white IPA kit everything in the box

Hmmm, sometimes oxidation can darken beers. So can a much longer than suggested boil time, but yours is pretty dark for that. I wonder if they got your ingredients wrong...

I even took pot off stove when I added the lme. I read for next time I may do a full volume boil to prevent caramelization which was one suggestion

Looks like someone at Brewer's Best put the wrong extract or steeping grains in the box.

In general, I have found that the extract kits usually produce beer that is darker than the style calls for. Just the case of using LME.

Ya that looks like you may have received the wrong LME. Oxidation can cause darkness like max said, but I doubt it can darken it that much. Who knows though
