I think yes, absolutely he can.. I think the last three years of not being able to get over 500 record-wise hampers his argument though.

If it was 2011 and Rexy said, "I think we're pretty damn good, we've made it to the AFC Championship game the last two years"... I don't know that I could disagree with him.

Wasn't the guy in Chicago doing pretty well when they canned him? His defenses were suffocating and his team was always on the cusp but their offense typically sucked and it wasn't getting them over the hurdle so off he went.

See, this is what makes me laugh. Historically speaking your team sucks. Sorry, there's no other way to say it. Yeah, of late Seattle has been better than their baseline, but so have the Patriots. Yeah, the Dolphins have suffered a decade of mediocrity, but that's still better than being an all-time mediocre team (.492 win percentage).

Which is not to say you shouldn't enjoy the Lombardi. Please do. Just remember that where history is concerned my team is better in every way and you don't have much room with which to maneuver in this little game.
