I got a better idea...eliminate the pro bowl altogether, no one gives a chit anyway.

I always thought that since the pro bowl is just a popularity thing... fans vote on who they want to see... rather than having an all-star game just have the people voted for go to the superbowl and have a big event the saturday before. It'll be like a fan-fest thing. Fans can come and meet the players, get their autographs and whatnot. Then you have some kind of presentation for them at halftime or before the superbowl. The fans get to vote, the players get to be fluffed by being voted in, they get the checks and we don't have to watch the pro bowl.

Good idea. Hell they can't even give tickets away.

I would vote to turn it into a skills competition. Have it run like the combine with position specific activities. Guys could still go against one another, but less potential for injury. The players get their due and more of the players selected might come, knowing they wouldn't be playing a game.

I'd say turn it into a flag football game, but even that's got danger; that's how Robert Edwards blew out his knee, playing flag football on the beach after his rookie season.

I don't think there's anything they can do to save the Pro Bowl. A skills comp; sure, a few hardcore fans might watch but the viewership would be the same as watching the Combine on NFL Network.
