Wondering if a Nylon washer can be used with weldless kettle fittings? No one in town has silicone washers, I realize I can order them, but I have to have the kettle put together by Friday afternoon. I can get Nylon washers, food grade, in town. Will they work? Right now I have small pieces of the high temp silicone tubing cut into "washers" that aren't really working.

I a pinch any rubber washer will work. You can encapsulate it in (food grade) silicone, if you must.

Or cut a 1-2" section of silicone tubing lengthwise instead of across.

Before I started hoarding spare parts, I just bought a silicone bread loaf pan from Target or BBB and cut out my own washers with a razor blade. You could also use a silicone cookie sheet or any piece of bake ware.

For about $7 you could cut out quite a few washers and they worked just fine.

Something like this:

I have used silicone baby bottle nipples and cut the nipple part out of the washer part.
