I just moved and everything made it OK, the brewery is about to do it's first batch at the new place. I lost the freakin plate chiller!!! Not the plate chiller!!! You guys have any idea where or what I did with it?

O man hit a guy when he's down (that was pretty good). I'd like a moment of silence for my plate chiller..... We should remember the good times. How long of a mourning period is normal for something like this?

I'd never stop mourning. I love mine. I ran 25 gallons through it Sunday morning.

Did you have professional movers? Have you unpacked everything? Does your wife (?) know where it is?

I moved myself filling my scion XB about 30 times, and another brewer came and helped with his big diesel truck to move the big stuff. The wife know's nothing because I haven't meet her yet. I've been through all my boxes twice, looked in all the cabinets, checked my scuba gear, not packed with the ski's. I even remember walking it out to the car. I did want to move up to a 30 long, but I didn't want it this way. I'm being punished for "stirring the pot for fun" I'll be good from now on, or at least a few weeks if I get my plate chiller back.

Maybe it fell out of a box and landed in a mounting bracket on his brewing rig?

The only way to know who is your friend and who is not, is to ask for help moving. My friend who helped me is also who guided in my Ebuild and the same guy who TIG'ed my pots. He is through and through.

I once lost 16lbs of sugar in a move. I found it 4 years & 1 move later. You might find your plate chiller in an odd box you never thought it would be in. I found my sugar in a box of archival videotape.
Regards, GF.

I had screwy things happen in my last couple moves. In the rush of packing, things wound up in the wrong boxes - workout gear in the kitchen boxes, CDs with the tools, etc. I bet it turns up.

Is it possible you overlooked it at the old place and accidentally left it behind?

The three days it would take for Duda to FedEx a new chiller...

Cheers! ;)

I tossed the house 3 times, and cleaned out the car. I'm not stressing about this anymore. I did order a new 30 long from DD. I feel better and if the old one turns up, I'll sell it or use it as a pre chiller.

Not only did I check under the seats, I checked where the spare tire is. Rest assured now that I have paid for a new chiller, the old one will show up. And on the up side, that is the only thing I lost in the move.

Again, I know you guys are kidding, but my super good friend, who is also a brewer on this forum, that helped me move, would not want my plate chiller. He has his own chiller. Just incase he's reading this or the guys from my home brew club. I'm sure I lost it. It will probably show up in the freezer in a few months. I'll open my cigar humidor and there it will be. I'm psyched about my new better chiller on it's way to me. I'm spinning yeast getting ready for it's arrival. Another brewer in my brew club offered the use of his 30 long for the next month. So that was great offer too. Brewers are just good people.

Gah I hear you.

I recently moved and lost (or thought I had lost) a bunch of stuff, namely camlock fittings, my scale, one (of 3) shank (just one???) and my DME spilled all over the place.

Guess what turned up two days after I ordered replacements for everything? Found a heap of stuff in a "closet" box my girlfriend packed. It's part of moving I suppose!

If I file a claim, they change the phone number. So when I call the claim in, I get "Momma pizza, may I take your order"

I lost a machine in a move i remembered where i put it stood in the place where i put it tore the house apart looking for it used a old back up machine for a while then one day i was in the kitchen just happen to look in the other room and there it was in the very spot i stood when i was looking for it. creeped me out pretty bad
