I first was introduced to brewing by my dad who Blew up (plugged air lock) his first porter in my bedroom while i was at school, but our family was brewing shine way back! Burnt their first home to the ground in 1912 with a still malfunction. Ive taken a much more laid back approach. Ive brewed several RJ Spagnol mist wines (LOVE EM) and a horrible catastrophe of a mead that NEVER got better with age. Its only since last winter that I've began brewing my own beer. Starting off simple with the "First Born" from Tempe, AZ brewers connection followed by a "Vanilla velvet rose amber cream ale" also from their online recipe database. this was also my first experience with kegging as I was able to come across a Beermeister Kegerator that only needed a shot of refrigerant to fix. I also came across another kegerator on craigslist that i was unable to repair but conveniently had a set of gauges and a 5# tank that fit nicely in my other unit. All and all im in about $90 on my keg setup.
My latest batch is a Samuel Smith Oatmeal stout clone that i split 50/50 with a coworker. Good Stuff!
