Noob to tri clovers

Bought a new system from Colorado Brewing Systems, and while it's being built, I've been ordering tri clover fittings. Basically 1.5" fittings with 5/8" hose barbs for 1/2" ID tubing. I bought some 3-piece ball valves as well, but I wasn't paying attention to the OD of the pipe on these, which looks to be 38mm. Should I sell these and get smaller OD? The only thing I can think of is extra wort loss, but am I missing anything?

Might be a little harder to throttle but in the end it is a ball valve. I'd run it and see how it goes!
