I have just purchased two outdoor burners equipped with what appear to be Bayou Classic BG-14 burners. It seems like many of the burners setups(including Blichmann) and brew sculptures I see use this burner. I was surprised when I tried to use these burners and I got no flame at the burner surface. I followed the lighting instructions, igniting the flame at the orifice opening, but when I open the valve there is a loud sound like a jet and no flame reaching the burner surface. I used a fully filled 7 gallon tank. Why would both these burners, both with separate Bayou Classic regulator/hose setups, do the exact same thing? I disattached the tank and hooked it up to my junky old burner, and it worked perfectly. Any thoughts?

If you were actually trying to light a BG-14 at the orifice end, you're lucky you didn't blow yourself up...

Cheers!
