Evening! I'm a brand newbie to the home brewing scene, so be gentle.

I'll probably stay quiet at first, as I haven't done much in the way of research, but I'll probably pop up to babble out a question on occasion.

My experience with home brewing consists of a Mr Beer kit purchased recently. I started my first batch two days ago and am quite excited. :) I know, I'm sure the Mr Beer kit isn't seen as 'real home brewing' by the veterans here, but it's a start. *grin*

Figured I'd say hi!! So...Hi!!! :mug:

Welcome to the forum. More than a few of us have started with Mr. Beer, nothing wrong with that at all. If you you are looking for some place to start, check out the Homebrewing Wiki on this site and also the free online book How to Brew. We have no problem helping you out along the way.

Hills, Piedmont or Coast?

Don't worry about the Mr. Beer, it's an inexpensive way to get into the hobby and should have you drinking homebrew sooner than many. Of course, once you start spending much time around here you will probably be ready to move on to bigger and better equipment before long.

It doesn't take a lot of money to get started brewing. One thing you can do is save bottles from the beer you drink to bottle with. Use brown bottles, and do not use the twist off type.

Where in NC? There are a boatload of us on here. Welcome to HBT.

I'm in beautiful downtown (close to it, anyway) Wilmy-wood NC. (Wilmington, for those not local. ;)

I'm going to enjoy the resources here, I think. Lots of brains to pick. :D

Thanks for the warm welcome, all.

Are you already familiar with Lumina Winery on Gordon Rd for supplies locally?

I'm also told that the first Saturday of every month the local brew club meets at Cape Fear Beer and Wine on Water St. I haven't met up with them yet myself.

Welcome to HBT there is a lot to learn here so enjoy and I look forward to hearing about your brews.
