New to Kegging Question

So I've decided to make a keezer for Kegging my homebrew. I will be buying a couple of 5 gal corney kegs. My question is whether I can put a 3 gallon batch into a 5 gallon keg? I have a couple of 3 gal carboys that I use. Can I still use them, or do I need to go to 5 gallon batch sizes only?

Yes, a three gallon batch will be fine in a five gallon keg. You just need to bleed the oxygen out of the dead space. There are several posts on here regarding this topic. Here's one https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=281610

It will be fine you'll just waste a lot of c02 purging the crap out of it. Your basically just starting out with a half drunk keg,nothin wrong with that.

Agree with others, as I've done that too. If you think you'll be doing smaller batches regularly, you could look into the 2.5 gallon kegs.
