Hey Everyone,

I am Jacob, 35 year old born on July 4th '89.
I originally come from Leicestershire, UK but I moved to Vancouver, BC in 2018.

My hobbies include;
Reading (I like to read history books, books on religion and theology, books on brewing and books on poker)
Music and going to live concerts (I play the drums)
Brewing (made my first batch in January from a Brooklyn New York gift set, it was only a gallon. And I over primed it, so nothing was salvaged. I have just recently bottled my second batch, which was all grain, and once again I over primed it, but I realized my mistake and I am going through the process of salvaging it. And I just made my 3rd batch from extract, which was a Coopers Pilsner. Plus I've made some wine too.)
I enjoy playing poker every once in a while, whether live in-person or on online
Watching and playing sports, which include Rugby, Lacrosse, Baseball, Hockey, Volleyball, Badminton, Pickleball and Football (actual football, the game you play with your feet and a circular ball)

For the moment I work in a school as a Special Needs Education Assistant and the Schools Bus Driver. I am currently in the process of training myself, to take the Air Traffic Control exam, to hopefully become one later on this year.

Looking forward to talking to people about brewing as I am new on the scene.

Jacob

I brewed an Amber about three weeks ago. I keg my beer so it's on tap now and I've been enjoying it.

I like malty beer styles with low hop bitterness. I love Oktoberfest, Ambers and Doppelbocks.

What styles interest you?
For the time being, my taste buds have enjoy a fresh lager, pilsner or kolsch.
I have gone through stages of enjoying hazy ipa's and hazy pales, but I went off them as it felt like the hops were tickling the back of my throat too much which caused me into a coughing fit.
I do likes blondes as well and Trappist style beers if I'm going to treat myself and push the boat out.
I'm going to Riga and Berlin this summer, so hopefully I can check out the brewery scene there and enjoy some local beers.

Thank you very much. What's your favourite beer to brew?
I enjoy Dry Irish Stouts and Hefeweizens the most, but the last 2 I brewed were a Blonde and an Irish Red. The Blonde gets tapped today. The Red is still carbing up and should be ready 3-4 days from now.

Oh wow, they both sound delicious I hope they come out well and are thoroughly enjoyable. Have you ever brewed a Stout? If so, how was the process for you?
