From your distant vantage point, brewing might not seem of any particular interest. But for us, at HBT, it's different. Consider again HBT. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it every brewer you loved, every brewer you know, every brewer you ever heard of, every brewer who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering and brewing, thousands of confident brewers, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of beer, every king and peasant who aspired to brew, every young couple in love and in search of mead, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader", all in search of a brew, every saint and sinner in the history of our species have spent time here on HBT – on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam, aimed at our little beery corner of the interwebs.
It has been said that brewing is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this difficult endeavor inside our tiny hop-filled world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale ale spot, the URL of IPA, the only home we've ever known: HBT.
