Hey everyone so I just purchased a new 6.5 gal glass carboy, finally upgraded and when it got it from from Bell's Brewery it looked like their was dust particles inside the carboy so I grabbed some pbw and a carboy brush to clean and it would not come off, I rubbed the outside clean too and have come to the conclusion that the little "dust" specs are in the glass, is this totally normal or do you think there is something wrong? I don't know how else to decribe it other than little specs separated out throughout the carboy. Help please

Could you upload a picture ?

I can but the specs won't show, from different things I have read I heard it could be tiny bubbles in the glass? There are probably 100's of ball point specs throughout the carboy

Basically I wanted to know if you look at your glass carboy in the light can you see tiny specs on yours?

Absolutely. I have six 6.5g Italian carboys 12-15 years old and if I hold a bright light behind any of them, what appears to be dust particle size bubbles show up pretty clearly. Nbd...

Cheers!

Thanks day, mine is brand new so I was concerned. Is this the case for anyone else? I want to save myself the hassle of lugging it back into my LHBS

It's brew day today so last minute input would be appreciated before I used it
