Hi there. Glad to find this place it's a wealth of knowledge. Started a year ago with a mr beer. All that work for 2 gallons was too much. So after a couple batches I visited my closest lhbs ( which is still over 1 hour away, if anyone knows one closer please fill me in) and got setup to do 5 gal batches. After my 3rd kit batch I'm now doing my own recipe for a wit. Also stopped bottling after the 2nd batch and now kegging, and in the process of building a 4 tap kegerator. The kegging has worked out great. I found a local bar that had 10 cornies ready to go in the dumpster so I got them for free. Too bad I didn't know sooner he threw a whole mess of pin locks kegs away over the past couple months! Anyone local give me a shout!

welcome to the forum. im pretty new here too. these guys have been great though. they come up with some really good advice, and everyone is quick to answer my noob questions. cheers!:mug:

Yep we’re in a LHBS-less Bermuda triangle here in Westchester. If it wasn’t for our clubs group buys and the whole food’s homebrew supply section at the Bowery street location in Manhattan (I go there on lunch) I’d be spending a lot more on shipping.
I guess you’re going to maltose express? There good if you have the time to make the trip.

Thanks guys. I have not gone to maltose express yet. I have been going to partycreations in red hook. It's 1/2 hour from my work. But still over 1 hour from home.

also There's a lbhs that I think only does wine in westchester. My boss bought some Demi johns there they have awsome prices for car boys and demijohns. About $20 cheaper than the shop I have gone to. If anyone wants I can get the name.

Welcome aboard! LOL the addiction gets big fast!

Nice score on the cornies. I need ball locks to fit 2 in my mini fridge, you find those, and are willing to part with 3 or 4 send me a PM I'll give you a few bucks plus pay for shipping!

Welcome aboard!

Welcome! I am only a few minutes down rt 6 from you over in Carmel. Unfortunately we do not have any good local shops near us. I order all my stuff online. Just need to plan a brew day in advance.

As far as Cornells in Eastchester they can work if you are in a bind but the owner is a bit of an ass and the selection is weak. Unless things have changed in the last few years, I haven't been in a while.
