Figured I'd do an introduction as well.
The thought of homebrewing came into my mind a year or two ago, so I started saving bottles to use later on. Altough I lived in a nasty corridor (fungae in shower room, silverfish and so on) which I shared with two exchange students, so I gave up on the thought to disinfect the whole thing and put my brewing dreams on hold. Luckily they decided to tear out everything and renovate the whole building, so now I could get it on.
Upon hearing that a friend had done some extract brews I decided it was time to start, after reading up a bit I started getting my equipment together, mash tun from a cooler, fitted a fermenting bucket with the heater element from a water boiler (2.2 kW, thinking of getting another one to get things boiling faster) for boiling wort and mashing water.
First brew went better than i thought, except I messed up a bit on the carbonation and some minor details. Drinking most of it while it was still green was the biggest mistake I guess. Next brew will be in about two weeks and then I'll push up the IBU's a bit to get a feel for the levels.
