Hey everyone, I'm Adam and have been reading these forums constantly since I got a NB Deluxe kit for xmas. Brewed my first batch on monday 1/2 and ready to brew some more!
Were are you? I live in Orlando and just moved here from Boston. Florida presents some brewing challenges with very few home brew shops to help. Fermentation temperature is obviously a big one. How's your batch turning out so far? What'd you brew?
I'm in Winter Haven, right between Orlando and Tampa. Everything seems to be going alright 48 hours in, lots of activity in the air lock. I brewed the NB Extra Pale Ale extract kit.
I haven't been to the homebrew shop in Orlando, but I've ordered a couple of things from them.
Brew,
I had to wait to start mine till after the cold came over the weekend. Since I brew outside I have to either make some kind of fermenter heater or wait till it warms up a bit. I have been looking at an exterior control for my mini fridge that may be the answer. Since it has a lower and upper temp limit I can use an IR bulb to warm and the fridge to cool. Just working out the cost and ultimate design so it works properly. Glad to see another Fl brewer, there aren't many around Gainesville that I have found so far and no ingredients locally either. Anybody know of a local ingredient shop near Gainesville or Ocala? Have fun
Bob
