I just finished my first batch from a kit my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas. I would like to learn how to brew using grain instead of a kit, since I like to have options. look forward to learning from the community here.
welcome! you might want to do a few more extract kits before jumping into all grain brewing. You'll learn a lot, get comfortable with the brewing process, and can still have a plethora of 'options' in your brewing. All grain brewing is rewarding, but gets expensive (some new necessities, and LOTS of desirables) and may be overwhelming if the extract brewing process isn't already second nature.
Just my thoughts. Start planning a new batch so you have something to take your mind off that first batch that's not ready to drink
Congrat's on your first brew and welcome to the forum.
+1 on getting a few more extracts under your belt before making the jump to all grain. After a couple more extracts I would suggest adding some steeping grains to the process and move forward from there.
