As you can see Im cheap and don't want to buy a pot. I was given a stainless water heater so i cut it in half. Ive been using a 5 gallon bayou cooker.
My question is about spigots and handles.
I was surprised to see the stainless coil in the bottom half . It should make a nice wort chiller.
I will also have to put legs on the one half or the same type bottom as the other half so i can put it on a burner.
I don't have feelings so let ur rip Ill listen to all comments. I just like beer:mug:ATTACH]373967[/ATTACH]

I'd be concerned about the non-sanitary, rusty welds on the inside. If it were me Id spring for an actual brew kettle.

Yes I am considering paying for bigger brew pots. The one I have is just 7.5 Gallons. I thought I might be able to clean up the rusty Welds. I was more concerned with wort sitting in fittings while boiling. Ive cut open a couple house hold water heaters and it surprises me every time how much Rust is sitting in the bottom of them.
Thank you for your input.

Ya, even if you got all the rust out those welds aren't sanitary and could ruin batches and fermenting equipment. I recommend the bayou kettles for an inexpensive setup. I have two of them with a ton of batches on each of them and all I've ever done other than scrub after using is a few acid rinses.

The 16 gallon bayou kettle with ball valve (that I recommend replacing) is only like 180$ on Amazon
