Hi all,

Does anyone in the Santa Rosa area have some Nottingham, WLP039, US-04, or WLP007 they will sell me?

I got a bad package of Nottingham. It has been 40 hours and no activity. The LHBS is not open today. The last brew that went this slowly, everyone called the clove beer. I do not want more of that.

Thank you

Just as an aside, the Nottingham pack was poorly sealed along one edge. There was a barely perceptible hole on that edge. I only examined it closely after I pitched and waited 24 hrs with no activity. I did a search on the packet, "Austria 1080472V, 07 2012," and then found the many threads about bad Nottingham. Yes, I rehydrated, aerated, marinated, agitated, vibrated, and procrastinated.

I'm in Sebastopol, I've got a couple packs of Notty you can have. I'm only 12 minutes from Bev Peeps, but I feel your pain when they aren't open. PM me if you are still looking.

944play, thank you for the kind offer. Ricand already hooked me up.

Thanks again. Looks like that is a good batch. My notes:

7/23/11
hydrated yeast 15 minutes then stirred, Danstar Nottingham Austria 1080472V, 07 2012
yeast sank to bottom, no foaming or anything. faint bubble sound, but no foam.
added spoonfulls of wort to yeast till same temp
...
shook wort vigorously 1 min
added yeast at 70 deg (45 min elapsed. still no foaming).
set to ferment at 66.
...
7/24 evening no fermentation, noticed small hole in side seal of yeast packet, Austria 1080472V, 07 2012
7/25 Rehydrated Nottingham Austria 1089001V 10/2012, thanks Ricand and Coppercat Brewery!
90 deg, 15 min, 1/2 sank, 1/2 floating foamy head,
swirled, put in fermentation fridge for 30 min,
very large foaming doubled in size, repitched.

Cheers
