My Cornelius regulator of many years service has crapped out. These days there are so many to choose from and such price ranges, it's difficult to choose. Looking for reliable service and service life. Can anyone offer an experienced opinion? Thanks to all.

Taprite. All my regulators are Taprite brand. Easy to get rebuild kits for when needed and always "just work". New models are easier to use than the old ones (no tool needed to adjust pressure out levels).

I got by dual body regulator in 2011, still going strong.

My oldest regulator is one that I bought as a rebuilt unit. Earlier this year I installed a rebuild kit in it, since it had sat idle for several years. Going strong still.

IMO, before rebuilding a regulator see what you need to do in order to get to where the parts you'll be replacing are. Also look to see what you're replacing. Decent instructions (should be able to get them ahead of time) will also help you out.

For me, I simply go with Taprite and don't worry about it.
