She bought me the equipment to get started on this hobby/obsession for a Christmas present.

After my first beer was done and she tasted how good it came out. She suggested that I go buy another fermenter so I could brew more often.

Last week I had a day off and I decided to brew on the spur of the moment and did a Belgian Tripel. When she came home and told her she was excited ( she like Belgian beer)

And best of all the other day she suggested that I should get another fermenter so I can brew almost every week to build up the pipeline so we can have some friends over for BBQ season and have plenty of Homebrew to drink sinve she likes the brews I have been doing.

Gotta love it.

Same here. My wife got me into it too with a Christmas Cooper's brewing kit. I'd been beer connoisseuring for 10 years or so and the only time homebrewing ever came up was when seeing those Mr. Beer kits in the mall. She know's it's best to get something better than cheaper and I've taken off with it. She helps me every brew and bottle day. I have two now and just recently I was complaining about my bottling bucket - never bottled with it yet since I haven't been able to find a spigot for it that takes the bottle wand directly like my Cooper's fermenters do. Apparently I need to use tubing to join the two and that's lame. So... she said right out, "I'll buy you two Cooper's kits, this way you can brew even more and can use one for bottling". They cost $99 each since you can't buy the fermenters separately. I told her she's crazy and I'd pay for them myself if I got them. I'm thinking one more should be enough. Gotta be reaaallly greatful for a supportive wife. Then again I wouldn't be able to deal with one otherwise

A few minutes ago she just asked " When are you going to brew that IPA that I like again". My response was " I' ll do it Saturday". Her. "Great"


Of course I like that beer a lot also. So of course I will brew it again on Saturday.

My wife can't even stand the smell of a good IPA let alone taste one. I think she may have drank half a Coors Light last summer when we were camping. I always encourage her to come out and help but she wants no part in it. Glad you guys have some one to share with, but at the same time I am glad I don't.

I live with my girlfriend and she always loves the final product. She's completely happy with me brewing and only asks that her kitchen is clean when I'm done. She also always helps me brew!

On a side note, she hated hoppy beers when we first moved in together (about a year ago). Now she is a HUGE fan of the IPAs, IIPAs, American Barley Wines, etc. She even joined in on my "Beerfest Fridays" that I host every Friday. It's a beer tasting event that we taste anything from chili beer to 14% English malt liquor. Everyone brings a mix 6 pack of beers that they want to try and we pour 'x' amount of beer in each glass (depending on how many people are there). I tend to buy the strong beers (Barley wines, IIPAs, RIS, etc.). Last week, my buddies had other engagements, so it was just me and her and she finished every glass of the beers I bought.

My wife got me a new 9 gallon kettle with spigot for christmas thinking (as I had explained) it would make better beer and my brew day easier, next thing I switched to all grain.

She is a bit worried the new (to be finished) laundry room is going to be a laundry / brewing room but I have bigger plans. It helps my case that she has the best closet, a great kitchen and a soon to be master bath on the way all built by yours truly. Oh the price I pay to be free and clear to brew.

Mine is still waiting for me to say, "forget it, I'm done with this hobby!" Not gonna happen, just ordered some of my equipment to make a kegarator so that'll make her real happy in the morning. lol
