I would just like to say that this beer turned out much better thanks to tips I recieved here. This is my latest pale ale. It slowed fermentation when it hit 1.020 and I thought it was going to be overly malty. I let it sit in primary for about 3 weeks and then a 2 week secondary. Its been bottled for about 9 days so this is my first sampling. It is by far the best beer I have ever made.

6 lbs. of Briess Light DME
1 lb of 40L crystal steeped.
1 oz centennial for bitter
1 oz willamette flavor and aroma (5 mins)
1 tube WLP005 (no starter but will from now on)

I will add that I didn't pour a good head. I would rate it's retention as medium to low overall. I say in a couple more weeks it should be better. I know the taste will be. It's still a little green and "unfinished" but definitely drinkable.

Congrats and looks great! I am fermenting something similar, only I used Crystal 60. Hope mine looks as good as yours :mug:
