Just showing off the motorized grain mill I built recently.
Mill is a 2SG Crankandstein.
In my workshop I restore and use vintage power tools. They all operate with external motors (originally sold separately), so I've manage to accumulate a few extras. I picked up an old Craftsman bandsaw that had a 10:1 gear reduction box on it for metal work. That's what's hanging off the motor in the pictures. That plus the 4" sheave on the mill results in a 90 RPM grind (if I did the math right).
The motor is on a hinged mount. I was counting on the weight of the motor to provide enough tension, but is still slips and stalls a bit. I added a bolt with a knob on the far end to add a little more tension. When not in use I swing the motor up and just slip the belt off the mill so it's not constantly under pressure.
