Originally I was going to wait, but I just couldn't keep myself from trying it out. I had to make some modifications but every thing seemed to work out & my Irish Red is bubbling away. I ended up doing my mash in a Large nylon bag in a cooler at 155. To sparge I fitted a large colander over my brew pot with the grain bag inside & slowly poured the rest of my water in at 170. It's a bit of work and the bag ripped but it seems to have worked out fine. Definitely will be converting over to an all grain set up. My reason for trying it so soon is the cost. Once I invest in retro fitting my coolers & buying a mill, bulk grain is definitely to way to go. After that it's growing hops. I've only been at it for a month, but drinking my first batch of English Mild while brewing my first all grain was amazing. Thanks to everyone on this forum, reading through old threads helped more than any book!
