Phew! I was afraid to click on this thread for fear of seeing such abominations as "solo cup" and "Darius Rucker".

Keep up the good work!

Cheezy, you know you are welcomed here, always. Put up a tune. This is a country music thread so maybe keep that theme. But tell you what. This is a music thread and there are all kinds.

I think the group "Alabama" is one of the greatest American groups that ever lifted a pick to guitar strings.

Makes me wish I was from there. Tell you what though, They are Americans and I'm proud of them as if they were my next door neighbor. That's really all that counts, it's called the American dream.

This song is humbling.

Thanks for the kind words Dan. I really enjoyed the Alabama tracks you selected for us.

Don Williams, who was probably my first exposure to country wen I was still very very young.

JohanMk1,

Giving you a thumbs up for posting a JC song, can't go wrong there.

Mostly giving you a huge thumbs up on your quote at the bottom of your post, I think it's called your signature.

I won't get further into that, else we have to go to the Debate Threads. But I do really agree with your sig quote.

Hootie gone 'country' is no real Country. As for Red Solo Cup, you have to give Toby Keith a little credit for saying that even he hates that song.

What's with country going poppy nowadays. Who is next? The Spice Girls?

Man, I got on here a little late and watched that Jimmy Rose audition. While I \, just many of you are not a fan of most of the new age country, that man gave some of us hope. Some may laugh but that gave me chills. Its so far and few that you can FEEL a song. That was a dang good song right there.

Along with this ole boy there may be hope for us all.

This fella right here has ALWAYS been one of my favorite as soon as he came out. One he came out before autotune screwed everything up so I feel better about listening to them and going to a concert as I know it is THEIR TRUE voice. Also as I am sure many of you can relate but there are certain people that sing and wrte, and if could, I would sing their songs as it is me. OK OK .. enough rambling ,

Gary Allen - It Aint the Wiskey

I think I've posted this group before.

Amazing to me. I love dueling banjos and there's a fiddle thrown in. Kids; their mom and dad must be influential and very proud.

And a blast from the past...popular in the 50's when I was a lil kid;

Can't forget Patsy...

Any chance this hasn't been posted here? I love this cover by Cash. He really seems to be looking back on his life here with some regret or guilt or something.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clq01TXQR0s

I'm not sure if it is his best song ever but it was his last and he definitely made it, Johnny Cash style! I can't even imagine his life. He lived a superstar life but always realized, for the most part that he was only human, fell short of expectations on occasions, made mistakes, loved deeply and he sung about that. With a big deep shaky but strong voice.

I wish I could say I held no guilt or regret in this life. JC, expressed that feeling for many of us. The world lost a great humanitarian and great country music singer when JC passed.

One of many of his best songs...
