So I am trying to brew up an APA. But want to make sure I am calculating OG and FG right. My process:
2.5 Gallons of boil, final batch size 5 gallons
60 min-
3.5# Golden LME
2 oz Galena
30 Min-
1 oz Cascade
15min-
6# Golden LME
Flame Out
2 oz Cascade
I used The Beer Recipator website to figure this stuff out, I THINK... Here are the stats I got from it's calculations.
The finished volume is: 5 gallons Low High
The original gravity is: 1.101 1.044 1.056
The alcohol is: - 4.5% 5.5% v/v
The color is: 11 HCU (~8 SRM) 4 11 SRM
The bitterness is: 43 IBU 20 40 IBU]
It didn't have a place to add to the fact that I am split boiling the LME. Does that effect anything?
