I can't help but want to proudly show off my beer, so here's a couple pictures of my second brew: Nutbrown Ale. :ban: This was a recipe kit from my LHBS that I initially thought was too heavily hopped, but turned out beautifully balanced. I'm really happy with the head retention and lacing on this one too, as my first brew lacked both.

The taste is a nicely balanced sweet/bitter (more sweet) with an aftertaste of hop. The aroma contains nice hop notes too, due to a 2 min addition. Dark notes of caramel and nuttiness round this ale out.

I got a brewers best nutbrown in bottles right now, which will be my first brew, i tasted it before bottling and ugggg didn't taste good at all. I'm hoping that the carbonation and letting it sit in bottles for a bit will help with that... looks to be the same color as yours tho, so I'm crossing my fingers :) Congrats!!!

Thanks all!

jgilmour, I didn't like the taste of this in primary either, but it grew into it's own. I wouldn't worry; I'll bet your batch tastes awesome after bottle conditioning.

You're getting those kinds of results on your second batch!? Good for you, man.

Thank you, sir. I blame it on my obsessive compulsion to devour all things homebrew on a daily basis. I think the folks here are probably getting sick of seeing me around every day. :p;)
