Are the larger masses fuzzy or just a collection point? If they are fuzzy, it is mold and you may just want to dump it.

On the other hand, if those are just collection points, then you have a bacterial infection, which could lead to a nice sour beer. What style is the beer?

In either case, unless you actively added bacteria (Brett, Pedio or Lacto). you have a sanitation issue. Anything that is plastic that has come into contact with your beer since the boil is suspect. If you have silicon tubing soaking in boiling water and PBW will take care of that. Glass and Stainless Steel are usually fine with a good standard cleaning. Racking tubes, racking canes and a fermenting bucket should be replaced for good measure. They can be soaked in PBW, rinsed well and left to dry in a location where they are subject to direct sunlight. I have been able to kill bacteria in a bucket this way (but then I do live on the edge of a desert where a daily temp over 100*F is common).

Pellicle.

If you don't like sours, dump it. If you do, then ride it out and see what happens.

Me? I'd nuke that from space!

Like them or not, I don't think he should dump it. He may have friends and club members that like them and will gladly take them off his hands. :mug:
