I brewed a Belgian style Tripel in December and it turned out fantastic--got my first medal with it in fact! I scaled the recipe up today to a 9.4 gallon batch using Brewersfriend and missed my OG by 3 points: 1.073 instead of 1.076. I either rushed the lauter stage, miscalculated volume at one point, or plugged in too high of a boiloff percentage. Anyway, I'm 3 points low. I don't mind the lower alcohol percentage that I'll probably end up with since the Ardennes yeast slurry I saved from the last batch gave me about 85% attenuation anyways (FG should be 1.011, 8.12% ABV-ish), but I'm wondering if 3 points is worth correcting with some boiled and cooled DME at some point during fermentation?

I usually end up a few points OVER my OG target, which I correct with boiled and cooled water, but I haven't had this outcome before. Thoughts?

You could add a few ounces of plain sugar to raise the ABV slightly. It might also aid with attenuation and dry it out, which is not bad.

I would not give 3 points a second thought, personally. That could be just a ~1.5 quart measurement error in 9.4gal.
