I made my first mead using Wyeast 4184, and recently racked to secondary. Not knowing if I could reuse the slurry (like with beer), I scooped a cup into a jar and out it in the refrigerator.

Does mead slurry work like beer slurry, can I rep itch into another (similar) mead?

If what l have been reading about yeast washing is true, yes . I would recomend making a starter though.

i'd be concerned that the yeast is pretty beat up at this point. did you push the yeast to its limit on the first batch?

considering the cost of ingredients, and the amount of time put into aging mead, seems to me that it's worth investing in fresh yeast.
