As I was enjoying my daily CL browse at lunch, I happened to stumble upon a listing for a restaurant equipment auction. The auction company is USPowerBid.

It seems a local burrito place (that I happen to enjoy:D) has closed it's doors and is auctioning off equipment. From what appears to be a treasure trove, I found the following:

http://www.uspowerbid.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?uspower4/102
http://www.uspowerbid.com/cgi-bin/mnlist.cgi?uspower4/2

It is quite possible that these will end up going for much more than what is currently showing, but as I am in the market for a freezer (keezer/lager/fermentor), these caught my eye.

At the dims given, the Norlake would be something like 53 cu ft, while the True fridge is closer to 32 cu ft (is my MATH off or is that just hardcore? :rockin:).

So, as the subject suggests, a bit OTT/overkill?

Here's the spec sheet on the Milk Cooler (reminds me of grade school) http://www.norlake.com/Foodservice/...ooler/SpecSheet/090743OpenFrontMilkCooler.pdf

I'm afraid I've never heard of this word "overkill" relative to brewing equipment. Can you please explain? Hey, if you can get it cheap (and you have room for it)...why wouldn't you go for it?

That looks like a good site. Thanks for the tip. I am looking hard at temp control as well, I would like to do some real lagering. Let us know how it turns out ?!
