I've started doing small batches utilizing BIAB, 2.5G batches. What I realized this past weekend when I was bottling what was in the carboy I was using for my small batches was that I could bottle and brew another batch at the same time and turn around my fermenter the same night keeping it busy. The time spent taking care of the grains was used to bottle what was ready to be bottled. Then during the boil, I could clean / sanitize the fermenter to be ready for the new batch.

I have two ferminting items (1 bucket, 1 carboy). I think I'll be using the bucket for 5 gallon extract batches and my carboy for the 2.5 G BIAB batches I've start. I'm working on getting smaller buckets for the BIAB batches I'm doing. But until then I will continue to use my carboy (unless I need a secondary). Got to get the pipe line up / running and and at full capacity.

What other tips / tricks do you utilize to keep your resources busy?

Get three or four (or ten) fermenters and brew whenever economically appropriate.

Yuuuup - realizing that. Amazing when getting into this, I feel like I should be doing sometthing. Even if it's soaking bottles to remove labels and clean.

I think that's why I'm starting to dig the small batches I've started. I can stay busy doing things related to home brewing, doubling the recipe's I could do with a full 5 G brew session. If I find one I really like, then I can do as a larger volume.
