I am using the brew365 mash and sparge water calculator. It says I should heat the mash tun first. Would I have to heat the 70qt. cooler I am using as a mash tun? Could I raise my strike temp a few degrees instead? If so how much would you raise I it?

Heat your strike water 10-15deg hotter and then let it cool in the tun to your desired strike temperature. Or a software application like Beersmith can calculate the exact compensation required.
