I was wondering if there was a way to input ingredients somewhere and it would populate recipes that use those ingredients. I have beer smith but not sure if there was a way to do that with beer smith, or if they have somewhere online to do that. I have a bunch of left over grains, so was looking to try to come up with a brew day with the leftovers I have.

I would just formulate a recipe on Beersmith using those ingredients right there. The malt profile doesn't look too bad. Not sure on the hops as I have never used either variety before.

Experimenting sometimes turns out to be the best thing in brewing.

I second this. Use one of the brewing programs to figure out how much hops to use to get the bitterness you want, and brew away.

Brew on :mug:

Should I be looking for an ale style? I just need to pick up some yeast if I am good with the grains I have now, you guys recommend any for this grain bill? The yeast I used was the high gravity trappist yeast in my last recipe, but would want to try something diff on this one.

Hmmm, 2 row, Saaz, and Munich...obviously german. Biscuit, British. Something vaguely European...would be a cool feature if Beer Smith would analyze your recipe and suggest best fit styles.

But you can just put it in, adjust for volume, and make some educated guesses on style and see where then numbers fit best. I think the flavor profile will be the real challenge.

With the Munich & Melanoiden maybe something like a Schwartzbier (Dark Lager), easy on the Biscuit though....sounds yummy to me!

Thanks guys for the input! This is the recipe I used:

10 lbs 4.3 oz Pale Malt (2 Row) Bel (3.0 SRM) Grain 1 81.6 %
1 lbs 0.7 oz Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 2 8.3 %
5.5 oz Biscuit Malt (23.0 SRM) Grain 3 2.8 %
3.7 oz Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM) Grain 4 1.8 %
1.42 oz Styrian Goldings [5.40 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 5 24.8 IBUs
0.74 oz Saaz [4.00 %] - Boil 30.0 min Hop 6 6.7 IBUs
11.1 oz Sugar, Table (Sucrose) [Boil for 15 min](1.0 SRM) Sugar 7 5.5 %
1.0 pkg Trappist High Gravity (Wyeast Labs #3787) [124.21 ml] Yeast 8 -

It was a Leffe Blonde clone, I ordered about double the grain bill so I guess I can input the grain and hops and try to find a different yeast

What you are making may not fit squarely into any BJCP style. But who cares? It's fun to just experiment sometimes, and if you already have the ingredients, so much the better. It looks like you'll end up with a tasty Belgian brew.
