I just got a 2.5 mini system (the crawl before the walk) and am curious about some things I've seen online regarding lubricating the seal.
What do I use and what about sanitizing? Won't the lubricant come in contact with the beer as it's being moved?
Also, how long should I use the same seal before replacing it?

Thanks, this forum has been a huge help for someone who's come back to brewing after many, many years of a break and the changes are awesome.

I just slip a little keg lube around the large o ring right before capping off and right after I pull the lid out of the starsan.

I don't think there is much of a worry of anything living/growing in a little silicone grease.
