Good morning brewers,

I have need some advice about a recipe I plan on brewing tomorrow if I can get my Hop situation figured out. First Im brewing a Dortmunder Export for Brewing Classic Styles(BCS). I got my ingredient over the internet and My noble hops are 2.7% aa and was hoping for more like 5%.

So, I need to hit 30 ibus and dont want to have to use 5 oz of hops to accomplish this so, What Hop should i pick up at the LHBS today for bitter that will not affect the style im going for so much.

Thank you for the help :mug:

Any clean fairly nuetral higher alpha acid hop. Magnum is good choice. I think Galena is also noted for clean bittering. I think Cluster would do the job but isn't high alpha so it might depend on how much clean IBU your going for.

I heard that the very dry weather in Europe last season has much of the new hop crop with much lower than normal alpha acid. Besides the types already mentioned Northern Brewer does a nice job as a supplemental bittering hop in German beers.

Man guys thank you for the great insight and recommendations. I picked up some magnum today. I will let you know how it goes.

Cheers!
