Los Angeles: $350 new in box Kegerators on CL

I picked one up yesterday and it seems to work fine. They said they've got more. You will need a pickup or U-haul style vehicle to transport it, as you need to keep it upright. The guy told me they were importing them and selling at a higher price point, but they got sick of getting calls from people who would lay them down while moving them and screw up the condenser despite being cautioned not to do so. So, they are just trying to get rid of their inventory at this point.

Maybe $350 doesn't sounds like such a great deal, but these are pretty big; about the same size as the Haiers. These will hold three 5 gallon cornies (see below).


In addition to the stuff they talk about in the listing (CO2 tank, regulator, etc.) these come with what looks like a 90mm fan mounted on the ceiling, so it already recirculates the air as it's running, and the tower has some foam insulation.

I am able to fit 2 x 5 gallon and 1 x 3 gallon ball lock cornies in there stock and the CO2 tank on the hump, and I think with just a little modification to the fan, either moving it or putting in a thinner one, I think I'd be able to fit in a third 5-gallon keg instead of the 3 gallon.

It only comes with a single faucet, and although the tower is large enough diameter to fit some more lines in there, I am not entirely sure I can get two more shanks in there comfortably. So my first mod will be the tower.

I did a little experiment today, and found that I could fit 3 x 5 gallon cornies PLUS a 3 gallon corny on the hump. The 3 gallon corny hangs off a bit, but that can be remedied in a number of ways (e.g. strap it in, build a small support for it, etc.) Of course, the CO2 tank would have to be relocated outside the refrigerator, but that doesn't seem too hard.

Also, I will have to open up the hole in the top a bit more to make way for more stuff. Luckily, it looks like the top of the kegerator is a piece of particle board that is held on by a few sets of screws. I am very seriously considering expanding this with a T-Tower on top and up to 4 kegs on tap at once.

One other thing that I noticed is that it makes a funny noise, I think when the compressor is shutting off. It sorta sounds like a dying moose.
